Chairman Jock Haddow is “Unique”!! If we had a swear box sited in the club, we could’ve not only built a new Pavilion we could’ve signed David Beckham too. Jock has been on the Committee at Oakley for years, firstly along with his good friend Bobby Weldon and more lately with Roy Williams & Dougie Hynd.

He does an outstanding job for the club and has twice been the winner of the “Bobby Weldon Award” which is given to the individual who does most for Oakley United Junior Football Club.

Typical Jock… he was too busy to give me all the information that we wanted to know for the website, so because we know him so well we decided to fill in the blanks for him… It’s pretty accurate we think!!!

Anyone who attends an Oakley match will know that Dougie is passionate about the Club and In his own style Dougie, along with the Committee are taking Oakley to new levels with plans to develop Blairwood Park, a new pavilion being the main drive.

Best Oakley player of my time: Kenny Ward

Royster first came to Oakley following a chance meeting with “Mr Oakley” Bobby Weldon. Roy was sponsor of a Cup Competition that Oakley lost in the Final 1-0 to Glenrothes… Following that meeting he became the Club sponsor and the beer brand Stella Artois’ logo has been emblazoned on the Oakley Shirts ever since.

Following the sad death of his dear friend Bobby, Roy also became the Club Treasurer, where he along with his fellow Committee members Cat (Dougie Hynd) and Texas Pete(Jock Haddow) are trying to build a club that Oakley and Bobby Weldon would be proud of.

In his playing days (or is that daze!! ) he played in centre midfield where his claim to fame was being sent off three times in ONE game.

What can we say about Spike that he hasn’t already said himself !!!!. A valued member of the OUFC “Committee” team, Spike also has interests in the Youth Side of Football in the village via Oakley Thistle were his own son stars.

Renowned for his sense of humour ( I.E. he doesn’t have one) there’s never a dull moment when he’s around. Just ask Jock about the Council requesting use of Blairwood Park for the Gala or Dougie about the cost of Milk!

Been ill recently and we’re all delighted that he’s back fighting fit and trying to get back into shape (And you must admit ROUND is a shape).

Ideal Woman: Vera Duckworth
Favourite Drink: it would be quicker to say
he doesn’t care much for water.

Stuart Gilmore, or Giggs as he is better known doesn’t like his photograph taken, as he one Ugly B*****d, and mothers the length of Britain would be up in arms complaining about our Website should his face be readily accessible to children.

Infamous in his ability to make Hoegaarden and Stella Artois disappear in conjunction with his sidekick Big Stevie McGuinness.
Although he is not recognisable from the above picture, who will know who he is on match day .. he’s the one with the BIG stick.
An absolute gentleman who is a great friend to OUFC.

Favourite Drink:

Big Stevie, is renowned for the fact, that he is responsible for 50% of Whitbread Pale Ale sales in Scotland.
Recently joined the committee of OUFC and already giving his all to the cause.

He’s a real “PRO” in that he’s part of the ~ “Pitch Repair Operation” under the supervision of our very own “Head PRO” Jock Haddow, which means they sort out all the divots left after the matches (Mainly Scott Lammie) in preparation for the following game.

Has had along with his sidekick “Giggs” a profound impact on the Draught Hoegaarden volume in the Hut on Grass cutting afternoons. Always complains about the quality of the pies on match day and he should know because he usually has 3 or 4 of them. Big Fan of current club captain Roger Duffin and rates him as the best player that he has seen grace Blairwood Park.
